Accessibility
Columbia University’s Center for Teaching are committed to making Eureka inclusive and accessible for everyone, including people with disabilities.
Conformance Status
The Eureka site is produced in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). The Eureka site is partially conformant to WCAG 2.0 Level AA.
Limitations
The Eureka site has been audited internally and evaluated with the assessment tools mentioned in this statement. Some parts of the content may not fully conform to the WCAG 2.0 standards. Specifically, examples of music notation are rendered as images to facilitate non-standard annotation of such examples.
Assessment Approach
We assessed and tested AHE Interactive Map using the following tools. Nearly all of the pages show minor to no violations of the accessibility standards.
- Axe web accessibility testing tool by Deque Systems
- Wave web accessibility evaluation tool by WebAIM
- VoiceOver, the screen reader by Apple
- Lighthouse, an open-source, automated auditor by Google
