Goal: To experience meter by changing from one to another.
Out of Tempo
Beginning
- Teacher prompts, “I’m speaking a time signature (meter) and you answer with another one."
- Students answer with a different time signature.
Intermediate
- Teacher prompts, “I’m speaking the counts of a meter. You answer with the counts of a different meter."
- Students answer with the counts of a different time signature.
Advanced
- Teacher prompts, “I’m speaking the counts of a simple meter, you answer with the counts of a compound meter.”
- Students answer with the counts of a compound meter.
