- Teacher speaks two words, both staccato.
- Students repeat.
- Teacher prompts, “Change.”
- Students repeat both words legato.
Advanced
- Teacher speaks two words, one staccato, the other legato.
- Students repeat.
- Teacher prompts, “Change.”
- Students repeat both words, changing the textures.
In Tempo
Clapped, sung, spoken, played in 2, 3, or 4 time.
Beginning
- Teacher claps a time signature in a medium tempo staccato.
- Students repeat.
- Teacher prompts, “Change.”
- Students repeat claps legato.
Intermediate
- Teacher claps a time signature in a slower tempo legato.
- Students repeat.
- Teacher prompts, “Change.”
- Students repeat claps staccato.
Advanced
- Teacher claps in a time signature with some beats legato and some beats staccato.
