Goal: To hear, sing, and play getting louder and getting softer.
Out of Tempo
Beginning
- Teacher chooses an individual sound and prompts, “Speak/sing/play this sound and get louder/softer or softer/louder.”
- Students do so.
Intermediate
- Teacher chooses a word and prompts, “Speak/sing/play this word and get louder/softer or softer/louder.”
- Students do so.
Advanced
- Teacher chooses a sentence and prompts, “Speak/sing/play this sentence and get louder/softer or softer/louder.”
- Students do so.
In Tempo
Teacher sets up a tempo and time signature in 2, 3, 4 time or compound meter.
Speaking, singing, playing, moving.
Beginning
- Teacher sings a note that gets louder in the first measure and softer in the second measure.
- Students repeat.
Intermediate
- Teacher sings a note that gets softer in the first measure and louder in the second measure.
- Students repeat.
Advanced
- Teacher sings a note that gets louder over two measures then softer over two measures.
- Students repeat.
