Goal: To hear, sing, and play quarter note triplets with social activities.


Out of Tempo

Beginning

  1. Teacher counts, "1, 2, 3."
  2. Students repeat.

Intermediate

  1. Students speak, "C, D, E."
  2. Teacher repeats.

Advanced

  1. Teacher speaks, "Doe, Rey, Mi."
  2. Students repeat.

Process continues with teacher and all students going back and forth.

In Tempo

Teacher sets up a tempo of quarter note beats.

Beginning

  1. Teacher sets up quarter note beats.
  2. Students repeat.
  3. Teacher sets up three eighth note triplets per quarter note beat.
  4. Students repeat.

Intermediate

  1. Teacher sets up quarter note beats.
  2. Students repeat.
  3. Teacher sets up quarter note and eighth note triplets in combination.
  4. Students repeat.

Advanced

  1. Student sets up quarter note beats.
  2. Other Students repeat.
  3. Student sets up quarter note and eighth note triplets combination.
  4. Other students repeat.
